(One consolidated reference page for hosts, mentors, parents and participants of the Worldwide Kids Vibe Coding Hackathon. “Last updated” call-out goes here.)
🧒 Child Safety Principles
- All activities follow a “safety-first” approach: physical, emotional and digital.
- Mentor-to-child ratio 1 : 3 (in addition to the two designated hosts).
- Hosts must ensure the venue is secure, age-appropriate, and meets local fire-safety and accessibility regulations.
- Children work on per-team devices only; no device sharing to reduce risk of data or account crossover.
- Only pre-approved websites, platforms (Lovable, ROSEBUD AI) and Wi-Fi networks may be used.
🎥 Filming & Photography
- Consent First
- The parent/guardian of each child must hand over a signed media-consent form before any filming or photography.
- Forms are collected at check-in and stored securely for five years (digital or physical).
- Allowed Content
- Focus images on projects, hands and screens where possible.
- If a face is shown, confirm consent checkbox on the participant list.
- Restricted Content
- No live-streaming identifiable children without an additional, explicit, written approval.
- No recording in restrooms, quiet rooms, or any designated private spaces.
- Storage & Deletion
- Raw media stored on encrypted drives; delete unapproved footage within 30 days.
- Use on Social Media
- Only share media that complies with consent.
- Always include the event hashtag #kidshackathon and avoid tagging a child’s personal account.
📱 Social Media Policy (Hosts & Mentors)
- Keep tone supportive and age-appropriate.
- Do not disclose personal data (full name, school, address).
- Remove any post immediately if a parent/guardian withdraws consent.
