The Worldwide Kids Vibe Coding Hackathon brings children together in physical locations around the world. To keep every participant safe and to uphold the integrity of the event, we must confirm that each host site is genuine, supervised by at least two qualified adults, and fit for purpose. This process is called verification.

Why verification matters

Children and their families place some trust in the local venues for the Worldwide Kids Vibe Coding Hackathon. By confirming the legal status of every hosting organisation, the identities of the two adults in charge, and the readiness of the venue itself, we establish a common standard of safety and accountability. Verification also protects hosts: when parents see that a location has passed our guidelines, they feel confident about registering their children.

What we verify

For an application to be approved, we look at three areas:

  1. Organisation validity – The host venue must belong to a registered school, company, non‑profit, or public institute. We ask for a registration or licence number and cross‑reference it with public registers. This step confirms that the venue is a recognized legal entity rather than a private address.
  2. Personal identity and background – At least two adults are required: a host and a co‑host. Both must provide proof of their role within the organisation.
  3. Venue readiness – A short checklist ensures that the building meets the basic standards for accessibility, emergency preparedness, and internet connectivity. Hosts share two recent photos of the main work area and one of the emergency‑exit plan displayed on the wall. We also ask for confirmation of first‑aid equipment on site and a statement that the Wi‑Fi speed meets the minimum requirement of 25 Mbps down / 10 Mbps up.

How to complete verification

After you submit the Host Application Form, you will receive an email for an online invite and confirmation.

If you have questions at any stage, please ask through Discord. Our team is happy to guide you through the steps so that your venue is ready to welcome young coders this September.
